Magic books are very captivating, and they lead to one wanting to read more and more; if you are a magical lover, then this book is the best for you as it is filled with mystery and magic. Often, we wonder if magic exists.

This bookStates After her mother's death, she decides that she no longer wants anything to do with family memories and thus chooses a program offered at Chapel Hill as an escape from her childhood home.

How does this book influence your reading choice?

This book is a five star as it confronts some of the experiences black people experience, especially when she finds herself in a situation as the only black person in the room. It also talks about sexism, racism, and misogyny in a tentative way; the book itself is dense yet very engaging that you cannot stop reading. Deonn's writing is incredible; she focuses on black history and character development. To sum it all up, her magic system in the novel was very creative, making the flow easy to follow.

This is the most outstanding debut I've ever read, and I can't wait for the release of book two. This book talks about world-building, which makes it more interesting. Bre, the protagonist, is determined to know who killed her mother after realizing her death was related to magic. In this book, we are shown how the black girl is courageous and bold and how she can overcome her worries and trauma, even through her grieving period.

An introduction to the creator behind the idea

Tracy Deonn is the author of this book titled "Legend Born." She is a writer and a second-generation fan girl whose level of creativity is commendable. She grew up in North Carolina, where she devoured equally fantasy books and southern food.

She worked as a video game producer after finishing her master's at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In her book, she portrays how black people are treated; Bre tries to infiltrate a historically white magic society to help hunt down the demons that are terrorizing the school community.

Friendly conclusion

Racism has been on the rise, especially in specific parts of the world. In this novel, we see a nave black girl who, after joining a tournament, receives racist comments from her fellow participants. Deonn intertwines magic and fantasy in her book, and she also uses real-life experiences to enhance the readability of her book lovers.
